Vintage Swedish Forest Lake at Sunset – Gunlög Wallsten – c. 1970s

A striking Swedish landscape by Gunlög Wallsten, depicting a dramatic sunset over a peaceful forest lake.

Intense shades of crimson, amber, and golden yellow illuminate the sky and reflect across the still water. At the same time,

dark silhouettes of pine trees and rocky shores create a wonderfully atmospheric Nordic scene.

Born in Kalmar County, Sweden, on 20 November 1933, Wallsten specialized in landscape and marine subjects.

According to the original biographical label accompanying the painting, she exhibited her work in Sweden and studied art in Greece and France.
